I kept wanting the movie to speed up but then assumed that this slow pace was a way to communicate the disparity between Elvis' frenetic life and the reality of Priscilla's life. I don't know how tall either Elvis or Priscilla were in real life, but the way he towers over her in the movie was uncomfortable for me. I assume this was another way to communicate their relationship.
